We are an independent family run hostel, bedrooms have basic furnishing which includes beds and a wardrobe, wash basin and/or ensuite facilities.

 

Shared bathroom facilities for use with non-ensuite rooms, comprises separate mens and womens toilet / shower rooms.

 

All rooms and guests have access to a communal self catering kitchen, our kitchen provides 2 freestanding electric cookers each with 4 hobs and one main oven, 2 microwaves, 2 kettles, 2 toasters, a fridge/freezer, a full range of saucepans, utensils, crockery and cutlery, a twin bowl washing up sink and separate hand washing sink, with washing liquid/hand soaps supplied. We request that all washing up/cleaning of surfaces is done within a reasonable time of food preparation and that the kitchen is left tidy for all other guests. please also be considerate of other users of the facilities during peak usage periods. If you are unsure of how to operate any of the equipment please ask us for help or guidance.

 

Tea, coffee and a range of other kitchen cupboard products are available within the kitchen (not included in price of room bookings),  we operate an honesty box donation system and request that a fair or the suggested payment be deposited in the money boxes provided for any items consumed by the end of day, we reserve the right to remove this facility at any time without notice if misuse of this gesture is discovered.

 

Within our ground we keep free range chickens, sheep, horses and rabbits and kindly ask that animals are not fed, petted or interfered with and accept no liability for accident or injury caused if rules are ignored. We are surrounded by open farmland and working farms as well as our own livestock and as such you will hear the occasional noises associated with this.

 

Basecamp Wales is located along a country lane and we request that care and consideration is taken when travelling to and from our site, and to be respectful of local traffic and residents.

 

 

Bookings

 

For reservations made via our website, a 100% non-refundable payment is required. This is payable at the time of your booking.

All guests must be included in the booking, including children, infants and babies. Maximum room occupation cannot be exceeded, maximum includes all guests regardless of age. 

Any charges or deposits made to any third party booking agents are non-refundable by us.

Extensions of in house bookings must be made via reception only. Reservations made online while in house with the purpose of extending bookings will be cancelled.

You must be at least 18 years or older to stay in our hostels, unless accompanied by a parent or guardian over 18 years of age.

Pets are not permitted on site or in the hostel, this includes keeping pets in cars overnight.

Heating

During winter months the building is centrally heated for upto 3hrs in the morning and upto 3hrs during the evening, auxiliary space heaters can be provided for bedrooms on request.

 

Group Bookings

Sorry but we do not accept large group bookings (6 guests or more) or whole hostel booking, any group bookings made via our website or any other booking channels will be cancelled and refunded. This includes multiple bookings made under different names to form a group. Entry will be refused to groups over 6.

 

Check-in

 

Check-in time is from 4pm on first day of booking until 10pm at night, we cannot accept arrivals on site outside of these times. Check-out time is 10am on departure day, we cannot offer late check-out.

 

Any damages whether fault or non-fault should be reported immediately to a member of staff.

 

All personal electrical equipment must be switched off and unplugged when leaving your bedroom, this includes but is not limited to phone chargers, radios, hair straighteners, tablets and pc's.

 

Please consider other guests when playing music, using tablet pc's etc and keep noise to a minimum.

 

Behaviour

Customers are required to conduct themselves in a reasonable and responsible manner at all times when on Basecamp Wales property and must not act in any way which may disturb other guests, neighbours or local residents. Failure to adhere to this requirement may result in a Customer being asked to leave Basecamp Wales in which event no refunds will be due.

Management reserved the right to remove guests from the premises when considered reasonable by their discretion.

We aim to provide a friendly and welcoming environment for our guests, staff and animals. Verbal or physical threats, behavior, abuse or inference of will not be tolerated.

We operate a smoke free hostel. Smoking is strictly prohibited within our buildings, smoking is only permitted in designated outside areas.

Damages

We reserve the right to recover costs from the guest/s or securer of their reservation in the event of any damages to property or reputation caused by their actions. This excludes reasonable wear and tear but includes wilful or negligent damages which incur costs to use to repair, replace or remedy. For example, breaking furniture or fixtures.

Any misuse of fire safety equipment or falsely activating the fire alarm system may result in eviction of the guest/s responsible including their group members and a charge to remedy any costs incurred. This is also a criminal offence and further action may be taken.

Reserved Rights

From time to time, we perform maintenance and repairs with in our property. Except in instances where this prohibits the use of your reserved bed, we reserve the right to perform maintenance duties as required or scheduled.

If a guest’s reserved bed has become unavailable, we will seek to find an alternative solution for their accommodation needs and reimburse any payments we have received.

We seek to reasonably maintain and provide services and accommodation. We are not liable for any distribution to these from events outside of our control. We will not compensate in these instances unless it is reasonable to do so.

Staff may, at their discretion, carry out a room inspection of all rooms to determine that no malicious or accidental damage has occurred. Should any damage be found, the guest or group shall be charged accordingly, and the guest or group booking may be terminated with immediate effect at the Management’s discretion with no refund of monies paid.

To the fullest extent permissible by law, Basecamp Wales liability for any loss or damage suffered by Customers shall be limited to that which arises out of the negligence of the Basecamp Wales employees, subcontractors or agents.

Basecamp Wales reserves the right to cancel a booking forthwith and without liability on its part in the event of damage or destruction to the Hostel by fire or any other cause beyond the control of the Hostel which shall prevent it from performing its obligations in connection with any booking. In such an event the Hostel will refund any deposit made but will have no further liability to the Guest.

Basecamp Wales does not accept responsibility for loss of or damage to any cash, money, jewellery or other articles of value UNLESS they are deposited at the Reception Office for safe keeping and a receipt is handed to the Guest by the recipient. The receipt must be presented by the Guest to reclaim their property or in the event of a claim.

Basecamp Wales does not accept liability or damage to any other property of a Guest, but in certain circumstances may be liable to make good any loss or damage. However this will be limited to £50 for any single article and subject to a total of £100 in the case of any one Guest. No liability is accepted for any consequential loss arising from loss of or damage to property of the Guest. Basecamp Wales does not accept responsibility for loss of or damage to motor cars or other vehicles of any kind, or any property lost in them; motorbikes, bicycles horses or other vehicles.

Should a guest lose their room and/or front door keys or not hand it into reception when they checkout then they will be charged £30.00 to cover the cost of replacement.

We may revise these terms at any time as required.
